Heeeey, Cousins! I use the phrase above to express who I am. It means “joy of living” in French. As an optimistic Sagittarius growing up on the Southside of Chicago, my life has been rooted in some of what you may call the Black Basics: faith, food, family, and music. They are the makings of me.
These attributes are the reasons why I created My Black Lemonade. We are a variety of people with similar yet different backgrounds who have cultivated a legacy through our businesses formed from passion sometimes through pain. The Culture is thriving and I love to see it! So, I’ve chosen to share the owners’ stories and celebrate the power of the people– my People.

As a pop culture critic and youth activist, you can catch KeKe reporting live from the hottest events, or hosting “The Kickback With KeKe,” her after school program for under privileged kids in the south suburbs of Chicago.
